Consecutive interpreting

In consecutive interpreting the interpreter listens to the speaker, translating their words once they have concluded each passage into which the speech is usually divided.

The interpreter takes detailed notes during the speech, using a system of abbreviations and symbols which helps memorizing concepts and their translation.

Away from tongues in mouths
And reckless hearts in tongues
And mouths in cautious heads."
